About this role
The Motorcycle Injury Prevention (MIP) team at the University of South Florida’s Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) seeks a creative and versatile Web Designer. You will serve as a visual storyteller for statewide traffic safety campaigns. Blend technical WordPress skills with graphic design to develop engaging digital and print content.
Design and maintain custom WordPress websites ensuring high-quality visual appeal and responsive functionality. Develop high-impact graphics for social media campaigns and print materials like brochures and posters. Support traffic safety initiatives through compelling visual assets.
Collaborate with the research team to ensure all digital and print assets align with campaign goals and messaging. Maintain brand consistency across platforms. Translate research objectives into effective visual narratives.
Improve website performance, security, and SEO for seamless user experience across devices. Debug issues and stay current with WordPress best practices and emerging design trends. Contribute to a university research environment focused on urban transportation safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience in graphic design and web design, with a strong portfolio showcasing both digital and print work
- Skilled in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and WordPress theme customization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate research goals into compelling visual narratives
- Proficiency in design tools and a solid understanding of responsive design and SEO principles

Responsibilities
